NCRPO Operatives Busts Notorious Carnapping Group

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have neutralized a carnapping syndicate being led by a certain Ivan PADILLA @ “Jimmy” and @ “Christopher/Kuku”.

The anti-carnapping operation resulted to the arrest of:

  1. Dale ALIMAGNO Y Flauta, 22 years old, single, 2nd year College student of Olivarez College, and a resident of No. 18 Everlasting St., Bergen Subd., Pulang Lupa II, Las Pinas City; and
  2. Glenn DEL CASTILLO Y Flores, 31 years old, single, jobless, and a resident of No. 65 J. Laya St., BF Homes, Paranaque City,

  3. and recovery of a Toyota Camry, with Plate No. ZLN-415, color Gold and a black VOLVO, with Plate No. ZAX-887.

    In his report to NCRPO Chief, PDIR ROBERTO L ROSALES, Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit (RPIOU) Head, PSUPT LEO M FRANCISO said that on July 29, 2010, at about 11:15 PM in Filinvest 2, Quezon City, anti-carnapping operatives of RPIOU, led by PSUPT Maristelo Manalo, spotted two (2) Toyota Camry, with no attached plate number that were tipped of by a confidential informant to be carnapped. The police operatives where about to approach the drivers of the said vehicles when one of the passengers of the Toyota Camry fired at the operatives. A brief fire exchanges ensued and the driver of the other Toyota Camry managed to drive away the vehicle and elude arrest.

    The remaining suspects were placed under arrest and their firearms, one (1) 12-gauge shotgun rifle and a Cal. 9mm pistol, were confiscated. The seized firearms and ammunitions were turned over to the QCPD SOCO for ballistic examination while the recovered vehicle has undergone macro-etching examination at the PNP Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

    Upon further inspection of the suspects and vehicle, the arresting police officers recovered Cal. 22 and 12-gauge shotgun ammunitions and a pair of license plate numbers, ZNL-415, which upon verification with LTO records show that said plates were issued to a Toyota Camry registered under the name of Ambassador Roberto Romulo. Two (2) pieces of documents, a receipt issued by Intercare Inc., to Jose Romulo and a DFA request to NAIA General Manager re: Passes of Hon. Roberto R. Romulo were also recovered from the vehicle. The suspects have indicated that the Toyota Camry was forcibly taken in Taguig City.

    During the investigation, one of the arrested suspects identified the suspect that managed to flee the scene to be Ivan Padilla and @ “Christopher”. According to the suspect, Ivan and @ Christopher are both armed and would not hesitate to fight when accosted.

    The suspect guided the operatives to a follow-up operation, which led to the recovery of a Black VOLVO SUV owned by Derek Ramsey Sr. at the parking lot of Westmont Bldg. located at Dr. A. Santos, Paranaque City. According to the arrested suspects, their group forcibly took the VOLVO somewhere in Tagaytay City last Monday.

    Cases for Violation of RA 6539 (Carnapping Law) and PD 1866 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions) would be filed against the suspects.

    PDIR ROSALES assured the public that operations against carnapping and other crimes would continue so as to neutralize all crime groups operating in Metro Manila.
